Hello,
I’m Catherine Pfeifle (pronounced fife lee). I am an experienced educator, having taught in both Christian and public schools; in one teacher, multi-grade classrooms as well as in single-grade classes. I am happy to be a part of the teaching staff at Five Oaks.
I have Bachelor’s degree in Education with a dual minor of Language Arts and Science from Andrews University. I also have Master of Arts degree in Curriculum from La Sierra University.
As a teenager I was drafted by my Mom to be the Bible story teller for her kindergarten class at church, thus the seeds for my teaching career were planted! “Train up a child in the way she should go…” Prov 22:6
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy kayaking, hiking, geocaching, gardening, baking, sewing, knitting, and of course, good books. In the last few years, I have become a pretty good sheller, so I go to the beach to dig up interesting shells, not bask in the sun! I love learning new things.
The more I read and study the more I know that a robust education includes useful work, study of the scriptures, study of nature and rich life experiences.
I’m looking forward to a fantastic school year!
